305's are in!
 
Suffice to say, once i put the insulators on, they did fit just fine... so that settles one thing. RX7 305's must retain the stock insulators... if you can keep them intact when you take them off the stock injectors.

I just put about 50 miles on them... and they are a little noisier than the 1.8's. I think that's normal. Maybe they've got a break-in period after being cleaned. It idles perfectly, no difference from the 1.8's.

It does however feel a little slower. I think that's probably due to me running even richer now since I didn't do anything with the fueling. About half-way through my drive, I went over 450 miles on the SPEC... AND I LET'ER HAVE IT!!! I made pull after pull up and down a few long semi-highway type streets near my house.

I think my boost-overshoot problem has gotten worse. I've really gotta get down to business and make that helper spring work. In third and fourth (now that I'm really working the engine hard) it's creeping up to about 13psi, and then quickly working back down to around 8-9psi where it holds steady. For sure before I hit the dyno Friday I've gotta put a little pre-load on the wastegate and fit that spring in there somewhere.

Didn't you send in a set of 305s and a set of 1.8 tans? What were your flow results?

With boost spikes like that you're plot is going to look exactly like Brad's. Lots of inital torque, dropping off dramatically, coupled with a flat HP curve.

Pop a rivit on the wastegate inlet like you did the restrictor and see if a restriction helps. Or port the bleeder on the MBC larger

OK, I did both of those, rivet and port. I'm a little happier now. It spikes all the way up to about 13psi, and then drops off and hold steady at 10psi all the way to redline. Dyno time tomorrow baby... maybe the tuner will have some more ideas about that. I think I may just be stuck with it running this turbo... we'll see.

The flow numbers after cleaning:
1.8's

Full open rate: 110,110,110,112

305's
Pulse Time: 37.1s
Pulsed flow rate: 100,100,100,101
Full open rate: 104,106,106,108

The numbers show how much cleaning solution the injectors flowed from a mock "fuel rail" during a timed test. So, in 46 seconds time, 1.8 injector #1 flowed 106ml, #2 & #3 did the same, and #4 flowed 108ml. Shows how consistant or "balanced" the set is. They are tested once "pulsing" the injectors which is simulating the ecu signal to open and close the injector, and also tested static open.

Did the not tell you flow rate @ a stated pressure (usually 3 bar or 43.5 psi)?

Yes, those were all at 43.5psi as indicated on the sheets they sent.

When I got mine done by cleaninjectors.com they didn't show gal/hr lbs/hr or cc/min.

I got mine done locally and I didn't get flow numbers beyond what sam posted either.
