Default Painting the compressor. Bad idea?

Is it a bad idea to use VHK Wrinkle Paint on the compressor housing of my turbo? I can't really see any reason it would be bad, but I also can't recall hearing of many people painting their compressors.

My compressor is awfully close to the manifold. I would bet that the paint would eventually peel off.

I am probably going to powder coat mine just because I can get it done super cheap. (cost of materials basically)

powder would look good.

Get an epoxy powder coat, silicone based or something higher temp. Urethane or polyesters would not be as good.

I ended up going with 500 degree engine enamel because as somebody mentioned, it sits pretty close to the manifold. We'll see how it holds up.

I painted the inlet flange on my compressor housing with 1200deg high temp paint and its held up fine, except where the rubber on the filter touches. For awhile it would heat up and smoke. Seems ok now though.

That VHT wrinkle stuff sticks pretty well. I'd do it.

I'm headed to Utah for a week, so I won't be making any progress for a while, but once I get the oil pan back from the welder I'll be able to put the engine back together I think.

I did as well. Hot metal gets HOT, and several months later, no problems.

Paint it this color, Hustler. It will match your manly attitude. The pepsi zero is important too to maintain your girlish figure (and keep track weight down).

Those cuts are far too straight and even for Faeflora.
