94-95 Link - Cuts on Circuit Board?

I've been having a few issues with my recently installed FMII kit, all of which seem to point to the Link ECU. After inspecting the circuit board, I've noticed that two traces on the circuit board are cut. Can anyone take a look at their 94-95 Link and let me know if you have identical cuts on yours? I'm trying to determine if these are supposed to be there, or if these are "custom" modifications from the previous owner. I discussed with Keith @ FM, and some of the Link boards were modified to work in particular model year cars, so it's possible these trace cuts are correct.

Here is a picture with the two cut traces circled in red (the cuts themselves look like little white dots in the picture; they are in the "3 o'clock" position near the edge of the circle):

The first cut (upper right) appears to be on the trace that FM instructs you to cut for WBO2 installation in a 90-93 car (mine is a 95). That's on page 2 of the manual here: https://www.flyinmiata.com/support/i...gauge_type.pdf

Just for reference, here are the issues I am having: 1) Link won't datalog with DLL, 2) Knock Sensor error - reads "255" at all times, 3) ECU doesn't seem to be activating the fuel pump relay; not sure if this is ECU-related or not, because this appeared a few weeks after install and after the car was running properly.

As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

fwiw I've only made one cut on my MKII 1.6 Link - per the WBO2 instructions. Datalogs with DLL fine and works with the LC1fine. What did Keith say about that other cut? Any idea on what trace that is?

I discussed with Keith and emailed FM the same pic, but nobody there has been able to confirm if that second cut should be there or not. Nor have they been able to tell me where that trace goes, and unfortunately they don't have a wiring diagram for the Link board. They don't have anymore 94-95 Links at the shop either, so they can't look at one for comparison. Arrrr...I'm starting to feel like the Link is an unsupported platform.

go here:
Miatapower Info Page
and subscribe to that list, then make a post regarding this. That's probably the biggest Link resource since that list has been around longer than any other miata power resources. The guy who coded the FM software for the Link is on that list and usually offers up something if he has an answer. He's helped me a few times.

Thanks man - that's a good idea. I signed up and sent this to the Miata Power distribution.

In the meantime, input here is welcome too. If anyone has a 94/95 Link they could take a look at that would be money.

I'll be heading over to my car tomorrow after work to see what I can do for you.

You are correct about the higher cut in the pic, My ECU on a 92 was cut the same way. It actually prevented my Fuel Pump from running untill I did the full wbo2 wire jump then it ran fine even with my standard O2 sensor, I have not seen any instructions for the second cut unless the person doing the install cut it by mistake and never fixed it... Maybe you can solder in a jumper cable and see if it solves your issues... Good luck with your ride buddy..

I posted to Miata Power just as M2cupcar advised - got a response almost immediately (thanks for the tip!)

Anyway, I got confirmation that both cuts are supposed to be on the circuit board for the 94-95 cars (those traces are for circuits that are only needed for the 90-93 cars). I recut the trace that we soldered shut during installation, and I'm getting a reading on the knock sensor now. Problem solved (mostly...still having an issue with Data Log Lab, but that is likely explained by something else).
