AC Safe Ramhorn?
I am in the planning stages of a manifold build. My car is a 91 w/ AC no PS.
Is there anyone running a ramhorn style manifold, with A/C. I have search for a few days at this point, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. If I had access to my car, I would simply measure it and go from there. Thanks -Rouphis |
BEGI S4 Exhaust Manifold 1989-1993 BEGi
I'd try to copy this as much as possible if you are dead set on keeping your a/c. |
It would be very possible if you're collector was dead nuts center in relation to the head flange and as high as possible.

Curious why you want the ramhorn. Do you have reasons to believe it's a better performer than a shorty?

You'll need to reroute the lower coolant hose to make room for the compressor. Not a big deal.

Y8s speaks the truth. You don't need a equal length tubular manifold to make power. Un-Equal length shorty manifolds make dank fucking torque. Perfect for street driving and around town use. If you want a highway monster puller, then go with a ramhorn.
I thought about going to the S4 manifold from Begi but, i'm just gonna have my FM3 ported and cleaned up. Should be perfect for 300whp. |
But I have a power goal of 200rwhp and wont be changing out the stock rear, so i need a Ramhorn.

Yes, he doesn't NEED a ramhorn; but I would rather cough up a little more cash how for more head room later. Yes you CAN make 380+ whp on a shorty like I did, but you will be running more boost etc. and it's kind of un-needed. So with that being said, if I had to do it all over again I would have never bought an ETD manifold saved 500 dollars and just went straight to the ramhorn.
