Default added BOV to greddy kit, problem..

I finally put an intercooler and (cxracing) BOV on my miata w/ greddy kit. I ran the vacuum line to the intake manifold line (of the two on top right next to each other, the one closest to the front of the car) and I can't hear anything coming from the BOV, can only hear the wastegate noise (whoosh whoosh whoosh). Am I missing something?

Some BOV's are adjustable... it might be cranked all the way tight and not opening. Is there an adjustment on it? Stuck plunger? If you really want help, you should take/post some pics.

Wait is that noise what is called compression surge? Is the line from the compressor to the waste gate run correctly or should it T to the intake also?

Or could it be my wastegate rod being adjusted too short (tight) causing it to make this noise?

Unless you messed with the wastegate rod, it should be pre-set and working fine, but I don't think it would be your wastegate, post a vid or something but I agree with sam, on the BOV being stuck or whatever, I Know when I had my greddy the woosh was the wastegate opening.

Okay so the whoosh is normal? The BOV is a greddy type s imitation from CX racing, the **** is loosened real far already...

I know what you talking about I'm having the same problem mine isnt working at all the only noise i hear when I let off is turbo surge, I drove around the block with my bov disconnected and it sounded exactly the same. So I think I'm just gona buy a real bov not an imitation.I even took one of the springs out of it and it still wouldent do anything.

But did you have the same noise before you even installed a BOV? I have the noise before I installed the IC/BOV - just w/ the stock greddy kit... man I'm confused.

I dont know if i had it before I installed it bc I did it all at once, but I did drive around the block with the vacuum lines off and it still made the same noise as to when it is on. this Is what mine sounds like with the bov hooked up and when its not hooked up.

If you're getting compressor surge, then your bypass valve is not installed or adjusted correctly.

Thats what I thought too so I loosed the adjustment all the way and that didn't help so I took it apart and took one of the sprigs out of it and that didnt help either.

well mine didn't make that noise not even close! when did you get your kit, was it used? is your waste-gate even working? look take off your bov hook up the waste-gate alone and see if it makes the same noise. if so i have no idea my guess would be the waste-gate actuator is bad,*** I'm just guessing!**** seems logical to me :-)

I got the kit like a month or two ago. It was new. Without the BOV it does the same thing.

BOVs are a finicky business, I've found. Mine would get stuck on the rubber O-ring, but now that I removed that O-ring, it doesn't get stuck and it doesn't leak (Don't know why the O-ring was there in the first place).
