AEM WB gage install wiring.
Be gentle please.
Could I get some help wiring up my WB sensors. (PLAN- Use with the EMU.)
Instructions say-
Red Wire- Connect to switched 12v......... What is the best place to tap this?
BLK Wire- Connect to clean ground....... Best place?
White Wire- <Analog Output> Connect to any aux unit that accepts 0-5v input. Where does this go? Will I have an analog gage wth out this?
BLU Wire- Connects to a RS-232 com port for hyper-terminal data logging. What is this?

I think people here are going to tell you to tap it to the same power/ground the ECU uses.
But... Mine is spliced into the cigarette lighter wiring and I haven't had any issues with it. Popping the cigarette lighter out and splicing into the wiring is probably the easiest and most ghetto option. Preferably you'll want to strip the existing wire with some scissors, then use the "twist the wire around the other wire" method, and use some painters tape to hold it in place since you can't find any electrical tape.
If you wire red and black, and connect the sensor the gauge will work. You will connect the white wire to your piggyback which will allow you to tune and datalog off of it (rather than the stock narrowband). I've got no idea what the blue one is for.

I have all my switched 12v coming from the power window harness in the center console. If you don't have power windows and the factory harness is there, it's just an easy spade connector. If you have power windows, it's an easy splice into an existing wire.
Ground should be connected to the same place as the ecu. So pretty much the ground by the throttle body.
White, hook up to ecu, like megasquirt
blue, don't worry about it

Cigarette lighter is ok provided you don't connect anything really power hungry to the socket (worst case the fuse will blow).
Power window harness - I would rather not, because you are more likely to draw many amps through that (both windows up or down at the same time, and all the gauges together).
The bad news is that if the fuse blows, you must replace it immediately or very soon - the wideband sensor must not be in the exhaust unpowered or it will be destroyed very quickly.

What wire do you suggest I use for the sw 12v....tap into the oem ecu wire bundle?

Can anyone tell me a not to painful way to access the lighter...how can one pop it out and or how much disassembly of the dash is required to get to these wires?
This plug is totally dead in all ignition s/w position including with the engine running.
+ wot is the other little white plug?
