AEM wideband reading noisy in TS
 

Hello all!

I currently have an AEM 35-8460 wideband setup that reads fine on the gauge, but has a really jumpy signal in TS.

I've tried grounding the gauge everywhere I can think of; My ground bus connected to my negative terminal, the MS sensor ground, MS p ground, and the ground bolt on the back of the IM (NA6 with the black/green cut). When I disconnect the sensor from the gauge to make it read 14.7 constantly, the signal is just fine in TS. Does this behavior point to a sensor issue, controller issue, or should I just replace both?

I recently upgraded my Speeduino to a MS3 Pro, and it didn't have any issues on my old ECU. I've been reading every thread I can find on wideband grounds, and am stumped. Others have variances of ~1.0 but my reading is right on what the gauge says, it just jitters and fluctuates rapidly a lot. It will go from a range of 14.5-14.8 but then jump super high/low to like 17/13 for a split second before going back to the jittery range. Say the gauge is perfectly steady at 14.7, in TS the value will jitter between about 14.4-15.0 very quickly.

I used a digital multimeter to test the signal output from the gauge, but have been told that since it is digital, it won't update fast enough to detect the erratic readings the MS sees. I currently have the power going to it from the door buzzer power wire, which isn't ideal but will have to do until I get my switched relay wired up to my custom fuse block. I doubt that is the issue, but thought I'd mention it just in case. Thanks in advance!

What's your lambda averaging lag factor set to? Try to adjust the value lower to smooth out the reading showing on ts

That sounds like a bandaid to the actual issue. Is that really a proper fix? I get it if it’s kinda like “calibrating” for lack of a better term, but if it is just going to mask the issue behind a setting, I’m not sure that’s adequate for me. I’ll go out and look when I’m free though and report back with what I find.

just a thought but have you told tuner studio which wideband controller you're using? I had some weird signal issues before I did this.

also I see you've tried to move your ground around but where are you getting your power from? for my wideband I got the 12v switched from the cig lighter, maybe there are more stable sources than other:dunno:
