AEM X series not communicating with Trubo Kitty ECU?

Hello, I have a Trubo Kitty DIYPNP on a 1994 Miata, and the AEM X series Wideband

I have is not reporting any values back to the ECU in Tunerstudio. The ECU will see the AFR value at a steady 7.5 and never change. I tried the AEM X series option in the menu, I swapped the values for some other values I found through the forums, still no dice. I have tapped into the Red and Blue wire for the Wideband positive and the Black and Blue wire for the Wideband negative. 12V power is just switched power, and the ground is just to the block. After i found it wasnt working, I tested the two wideband sensor outputs and found that they were not producing anything.

Is my X Series controller fried? Am I just hooking it up wrong? Here are the two wires I am using. The Wideband positive is on the red highlighted wire and the Wideband negative is on the blue highlighted wire

Someone in my local miata facebook group had similar issues. He said he wired the 12v source and the wb output backwards.

So you've got your black wideband wire connected to the black/blue wire on your car, and thered wideband wire connected to the red/blue wire on your car? What is the actual wideband gauge (not TunerStudio) displaying?
