Default Apexi s-afc and bipes playing nice together?

Hey guys,
I'm building a 97' turbo miata and i'm looking to save a little bit of cash on the ECU department.
instead of getting a full blown programmable ecu i wanna get the apexi s-afc to control the fuel and the bipes to control the timing.
any of you guys had/has experience with these 2 little puppies put together?
can i even install them side-by-side?

Thanks

shouldn't be a problem. but a full blown megasquirt setup will run your close to the same $$$.

As far as I know, they don't share any of the same wires. It should work fine, though most people just use an FMU to raise fuel pressure and Bipes for timing, or an ecu that controls both.

...I do have a used Bipes in the for sale section though. :gay:

Edit: The safc and Bipes do both share the air flow wire, but that shouldn't be an issue anyways
