Anybody running a MSP GT25?
 

Just wondering if you are running a GT2554r from a MazdaSpeed Protege and if you have any pics of it with the stock wastegate or without and how you clocked it...thanks guys!

Also, are the oil/water inlet/outlets the same as the standard GT2554r?

I didn't know it has a garrett gt2554r... I know it has a garrett, and a ball bearring one.
I don't think garrett would change the oil and water points. But the exhaust hausing could be a surprice...

Clocking a gtxxxxr turbo is easy: just undo the exhaust bolds and turn the chra.
Same for the compressor side. Looks more work than it is.

Don't loosen too far, the trick is too loosen it so you can barely turn it by hand (some friction on the exhaust side) This to not touch the blades...

the bolts aren't meant to come out right? just loosen and turn...and if it doesn't want to turn...beat it with a rubber mallet?

i bought one and set it up to run on an fm manifold. chris tankard now has it.

to align the turbine, i loosened the six bolts on the crha and turned it to the angle i needed. for the compressor housing, you want to get a 9-12" plier to compress on the back of it. national tool had them in store for ~$7. i DO NOT recommend the mallet or prybar method.

ATP sells a billet actuator bracket then fit perfectly with the orientation i needed for the manifold.

i had to shorten the actuator arm about 1/2", iirc.

all the fittings i bought through ATP.

that turbo is off a msp. the beauty is that turbo is a bit small for the 2l motor in that car, so a lot of msp guys upgrade to a t3 or something larger.

the stock actuator is delicate. the one i bought came with a new one uninstalled.

the only issue i had was to enlarge the holes on my downpipe to make it fit the studs on the turbo. no big deal.

the compressor housing uses a snap ring, not bolts.

I bought an MSP wastegate from ATP, it is very odd...and rather freakishly large for the turbo size...think I got the right one?

I should have waited till I had everything clocked...I may have to sell that and get one like you did, it looks great...

What bracket is that I'm having trouble finding it? And is that just one of the standard wastegate actuators?

that billet bracket is the one i used. it fits PERFECTLY with the way you need to clock the turbo. the actuator i used was a new one the seller included with the turbo. it had a straight arm with an adjustable end. i can't tell you if the one you have will work, but judging by the picture, it won't. the other one you linked to *might* work, but i would get one with an adjustable end on it.

well, i used the stock actuator and cut about 1/2" off the arm. you may need to thread the arm a little. iirc, it's m7x1.0

So is the one I have pictured NOT the stock actuator? because thats the one I picked up from WOT a while back.

Still trying to figure this out on the wastegate, anybody?
