Anyone replaced the "stock" BEGi recirc valve?
I've had my BEGi S4 kit for about 6 months now and i'm thinking about replacing the recirc valve with a nice bov (HKS ssqv maybe?). the one that came with the kit has alway leaked and whistled at low psi ("is there someone playing a flute under your hood?" "no thats my bov"). the guy that tuned my MSPNP said i should just get a nice one cus the plastic ones dont last long anyway. what dou you guys think? replace or fix somehow?

Forge makes an all metal direct replacement if you want to continue to recirc and just pnp.
Otherwise get whatever freakin valve you want. |

I swear to god, if I have to keep reading responses like this I'm going to have a fucking stroke. But anyway, I replaced my BEGi generic BOV with a Forge, its seems to be a pretty good piece. I think the major problem with the BEGi BOV is that it has a plastic plunger, which probably deforms and whatnot It kinda looks like this, they dont seem to make mine anymore http://www.forgemotorsport.com/image...s/FMCL007P.jpg |
FYI I hated my HKS my knock off Greddy type S has served me much better for only $60 new.

I also bought a real HKS and I can honestly say I wouldn't do it again. There are too many cheap ebay BOVs with a good track record to ever pay for a "name brand" BOV. gets in the way of what? your steering wheel?

I am running my Bosch to atmo and it sounds pretty good. Just sounds like a blow off valve.

I've got a Forge Splitter valve. I'm able to run either comepletely re-circulating, fully VTA, or a 50/50 split. I've tried all 3 and have since left it on the 50/50. It gives a nice audible PSH sound but not crazy loud like the VTA. But it was about $150.

there's some clearance issues with my hood prop (i know, BIG deal). and it never really all lined up right. it seems like extra pipes and hoses for nothing

The Mitusbishi valve is one of the most reliable on the market, short of melting the darn thing. Two recorded failures in 20 years. If yours is still under warranty, you should send it back to me to be replaced!

actually the guy that sold me his T25 set up give me this BOV, I might use it with my 11 psi set up, but if not, what should I put in instead of it? a HKS?

Mine whistled too. It also leaked at 18psi on the tester thingy. If yours is not leaking, don't replace it.
