cross refeference the part number on vdo's site with summit?
or just call summit. |
autozone sells a tubing kit for a boost guage. Its sunco brand or something like that.
Here's the tubing kit: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
thanks for the help guys, its not availble from summit (guessing out of stock or they dont carry it anymore) so i think autozone is going to be where its at.
it's by the gauges in the ricer section, usually hanging next to some copper tubing kit. Funny thing is they don't even sell the boost guage that the kit is needed for.
You can get all the necessary tubing parts from a local ace hardware for cheap. Also, unless you already returned the boost gauge, you can fix that, mine did that too...call me.
How do you fix the gauge? Mine reads 1psi when the car is shut off.

I bought mine used, I gotta give that a try.
There is a hole in the back for the lightbulb. Take that out and use your pinky to press the walls of the gauge. Do this carefully and watch what the needle does. You press one side the needle goes one way and another side makes the needle go another. Just play around with it and you'll see what I mean.
Go ahead finger your gauge...it's fun. |
I bought The VDO tubing kit from egauges. ou should be able to source out the same kit @ the local harware store. It's just some cheap 1/8" plastic tubing and a couple of brass fittings.
Interestingly enough my evilbay sunpro came w/ the same kit and that gauge and kit was only $8.00... |
Ya know, I checked in all the hardware stores in my town and was never able to find that plastic vacuum tubing along with the ferrule and nut connection needed to connect it to my VDO gauge (had forgotten to order the tubing kit initially). I ended up having to order it from Summitt after I gave up.

I am surprised ace hardware did not have it for you...it's a common part.
Why didnt you try advanced auto like I said. I've seen like 10 in the past week.

Either way, this was like two years ago, and it wasn't that big a deal since my car wasn't quite running yet anyway :) |
