searched and searched, but can't seem to find tuning instructions for the begi adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and the .pdf file on their website isn't working. I have the vacuum line to the little hose barb that doesn't have the needle valve, the line from the stock fpr to the 'IN' port, and then the other port goes to the fuel return line. I've read that the needle valve stays open, is that correct? I've seen some setups with a check valve, is this required?

anyways I think I have it hooked up correctly (or maybe not) and I'm running real lean. I'm assuming I loosen the locking nut on center stud and then turn that stud in and out to adjust it? which way is lean/rich? thanks guys.

well almost right, now I need a check valve though. and a fuel pressure gauge. I can find where to get a fp gauge by searching, but I'm thinking a little vacuum check valve might be harder to find, would this sorta thing be found at home depot, or an auto parts store?

so following the instructions, I bought a fuel pressure gauge setup for ~$40 at NAPA, along with a check valve to go off the needle valve. hooked everything up, and it leaked. tightened everything up, and it leak less, but still leaked. used some liquid teflon tape, and now it doesn't leak. but when I pinch the return line at idle, the gauge goes from ready ~30psi to only 60? shouldn't it be around 120psi when the line's pinched shut? as stated in my signature, I have a walbro in-tank pump installed.

How are you pinching the line? Are you using your fingers or some sort of mechanical clamp?

one more quick question that might get me a lot of teasing, but is the pressure gauge supposed to be before or after the fuel rail? i.e. on the return line or the feed line.

feed line, the return on the rail goes through the stock FPR too, not to mention it's had fuel squirted out of it.

I figured, I'll check the pressure on the feed line tomorrow, thanks guys

ok, so I hooked up the gauge on the feed line and was still getting only 55psi. tired bunch of different things and still 55psi.

so I decide to take the fuel pump out and look at it. turns out the little 1" line from the pump to the hardline had been eaten up by the clamp and was pretty torn up. so I replaced that and now have 115psi! I also took the worm clamps I had used off and put on the stock spring clamps, they seem to work much better and won't tare up the hose.

now once I make a sturdier bracket for the wastegate actuator I'll hopefully have less of a boost spike and be good to run with 10psi. gotta sign up for the next track day....
