Literally hang around this site reading things. Read build threads. 99% of noob things you need to know have already been answered and figured out.
Also, if you're going to post make it worth our while. Talk about facts, tell us what you know, tell us what you've done, tell us what you may have learned but are questioning. Most importantly, include information.

Do the above mentioned things^ Please.
As far as the car, do maintenance, all of it. Then do some more. Once you do that, grab a megasquirt and learn to tune your car in stock format.
Do this for a minimum of one season. Then come back and talk to us.

man, you make some crappy threads pierre. you should probably stop starting them and start reading the endless amount of threads that talk about the info you want. read and learn.

Now I can see why some of you guys get so frustrated.

Before I learned jack about putting together a turbo kit (which, by the way, can be done without ever making a thread), I learned I would get destroyed if I asked a question like this on this forum.

First off make make sure the motor is running well you should do a compression test because you don't want to turbo a bad motor. Another piece of advice is don't cheap out on parts because it will actually cost you more money to replace the bad parts than buy good quality parts. You can cheap out on some parts that don't really matter but for sure get a good manifold and make sure you have some sort of downpipe with a wideband sensor so you can read your air fuel ratio which is key when boosting your car. If you keep stock ECU then make sure you get a fuel management unit. Check out the vortec FMU. Other than that just do some research on the other parts you need there is a bunch of threads just like this one. good luck

Also don't do this and instead get a proper ECU. If you can't afford a Megasquirt, you probably can't afford to turbo your Miata.

I agree. Only just joined this forum to discover, my god! It's an unfriendly site for complete beginners. Guess I'll go and learn the hard way.

The hard way? Do you mean the way that actually requires time spent researching instead of begging for it to be spoon-fed to you?

Trust me, spending time reading through build threads and the like is much easier than dealing with the backlash from asking a question that's been discussed 100+ times.

9.5 times out of 10 the info is on this site somewhere, you just have to WORK for it.

You bump a 3 year old thread with complaints as your first post. How did you think it was going to go?

Honestly if you read the stickied threads in this section you will get more then enough info. I have a guide with the 6 steps to follow.
