Best way to mount a 13g on 1.6L Miata?

Like the title states. Anyone know what might be the best way to mount a 13g turbo on my 1.6L Miata? Should I have someone custom make one or buy a manifold and get a adapter for it?

Or should I go with a completely different turbo? I like the idea of a quick spool at 2500rpms.

You can get that kind of spool out of many other turbos and not have to make custom crap. Just get an old T25 and any standard T2 manifold/downpipe.

Dont bother with a custom crap unless you have good reason for it.

I would buy a cast BEGI or FM manifold with a gt2554r turbo.

Never ever build a turbo system around a specific part. You will regret it every single time you want to upgrade something.

I have a BEGi 1.6 mani for sale with a downpipe

16g playa it is optimal for the 1.6 and the price can not be beat however the components you can get cheap off the shelf aren't the best they do work and will provide many miles of smiles. My buddy daniel just outfitted his 90 with a 16g using the meganracing manifolds, and a ebay 16g turbo and intercooler his total outlay was 430 dollars not counting his ems MSPNP etc. And we didnt have to weld a thing.

Magnamx-5 im glad to see people are stepping up to the 16g turbo. When i had mine i loved it full 20psi by 3000rpm on the built 1.8. Made 350whp on 20psi also, so this means you can make great numbers on lower boost. I had a EBAY manifold the key thing i found on the 2 one i got was go over the welds and to brace the manifold and downpipe. I welded a brace from the downpipe to the ppf on the tranny were the short bolt is. All that made the manifold last a good amount of time with out needing to be welded every 500miles. I ended up needing to weld it after every 3000miles it stopped cracking at around 10000miles but after that i sold it and went ghetto balla AKA weld a v band to a cast manifold.

I have been rocking the 16g since 2005 and it works great 17 psi is nice.

Hmm, I'm looking into a 16g now. I'm about to buy a ebay manifold/downpipe and go over the welds. Is that a wise thing to do?

that fix the down pipe, and put a brace on it and it pwns face pretty handily. The dp points kind of high at the bottom you can take it to an exhaust shop and have them put a bend in it down or cut and reweld it in a better spot it still fits as it comes but it hits the bottom of the car.

Honestly I think the wise thing to do would be to pick up a begi or FM DIY kit and then get a chinacharger. Why buy something that you know is garbage unless you modify it? What if your welds are garbage and it falls apart on you? If you can't afford it then look in the classified section here. Those items come up all the time.

Okay, yeah I'm not going to worry about it being bent weirdly my fiancee's uncle works on exhaust so he can bend it no problem. So I should definitely reweld and put a brace on it? Any other beefing (sp?) up?

The welds would not be mine, I will have someone who welds do it probably if I don't decide to go a different direction.

I'm probably going to talk to my fiancee's uncle today and ask how much he would charge me for a 2.5" downpipe and full 2.5" exhaust. Also see how much to pipe the intercooler.
