My old T25G was way, way better.

oh that's crazy. did you measure stuff before you put it in? i know Levnubhin got a turbo once he though was a 2860 size and ended up being like a 2876.

I made sure the turbo i got had all the wheel size specs so i knew what I'd be getting my hands on. I confirmed the measurements once i got it.

The comp wheel is smaller than a 2560, I compared a 2560 wheel to the CXracing wheel, didn't measure - cxracing was "taller" than the genuine 2560, but the 2560 was "wider" than the cxracing. It's the same turbo as has been discussed in this thread, however.

It's balls awful spool-wise though, I've only reached 10psi by ~4500ish rpm. TERRIBLE turbos. It spools like it's a 30xx turbo, not a 25xx - and yet, it only has the power of a 25xx turbo.

I never installed this. It had a weird downpipe flange. I think a t3 but not sure, 5 bolts but not t25. Anyway if anyone wants to buy it let me know. It has a bigger compresion wheel than the t25 for sure and the wasted gate seems well designed but other than that I dont know

While I'm on this....

It's removing fuel from the T25G-cells in autotune/running richer. This means it is producing less power on the same cells, correct Brainy?

Braineack 05-05-2012 12:33 PM

yep.

blaen99 05-05-2012 12:35 PM

Well, ---- me. So it's a power-downgrade in the same cells, and it takes for ------- ever to spool up then.

Braineack 05-05-2012 12:43 PM

what about top end? did you have to add fuel?

which one specifically did you get?

blaen99 05-05-2012 12:45 PM

The item in the OP, http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Design-T...item3f0441846f

As for the top end, it's removing fuel from the top-end as well, but the top-end is way higher psi than the T25G ever ran, so it was still running your basemap.

I'm just going to pick up a 2560 in the future and go full ArTech, it's not worth this headache imo.

Braineack 05-05-2012 01:21 PM

What did u have before? .86 a/r turbine is why its slow. Can not swap turbine housing if same?

blaen99 05-05-2012 01:24 PM

Turbine Housing isn't possible to swap.

I'd have to get ahold of a turbine -and- turbine housing from a standard T25 or something in order for it to even have a chance of working sadly. The turbine has little to do with any T25 turbine.

Huh, sounds like a dodged a bullet. I ended up loosing $40 on this thing with shippIng charges, and Abe wasnt impressed with it's build quality. The flange it came with looked down right shitty.

And now I have a turbo thats at least at 5psi well under 3000 rpm :) see my build thread for what you're missing.

blaen99 05-05-2012 02:25 PM

:vash: Cuurrllly...Yeah, I'm just going 2560 later. This'll work for now.

curly 05-05-2012 02:57 PM

I was wrong, full boost by 2700rpm, 5ish psi as low as 2380rpm. Found a old Greddy log and I was hitting the same 150 map pressure by 3000, so I gained 300. This is a much better downpipe and wastegate setup.

blaen99 05-05-2012 03:06 PM

Wow, and that's journal bearing?

(Edit) You sonofabitch, that's a T25G you are running? :vash:

Yeah, I'll just go 2560.

blaen99 05-05-2012 03:21 PM

Fawk you Curly.

E-mail sent to Abe. 2560 and ArTech downpipe/exhaust incoming in the next few months.

:vash: You talked me into spending more money I didn't want to spend on the Miata Cuuurrrrlyyyyyyyyyy!

curly 05-05-2012 03:25 PM

Eh? It's an SR20 T25, whatever that means.

Edit: Lol. The power of MLV.

blaen99 05-05-2012 03:26 PM

Yeah, got rid of my previous T25G Curly thinking this Chinacharger was an upgrade. It wasn't.

kenzo42 05-05-2012 03:40 PM

How about the Shanghai ones Begi uses? It seems not all chinachargers are built the same?

blaen99 05-05-2012 03:41 PM

This chinacharger is turbo #3 for me. I'm just buying OEM new garrett, some people have luck with these used turbos and chinachargers, I'm not one of them.

Savington 05-05-2012 03:57 PM

A Chinacharger performing more poorly than originally expected? Color me unsurprised.
