Default Another Begi DP question.

Just went and looked at my new Begi. Two exhaust bungs. Check the pic. The upper one is in the stock location, or at least close enough not to matter. Wouldn't it be better to have the lower on pointing towards the inside of the car to make it easier to route the cable towards the center console or wherever.
I'm pretty set on getting an LC1 as a future upgrade (near future). I know it can run standalone just with a gauge, but do most guys replace the stock o2 sensor and run NB output? This would still be on the stock computer, no eManage or anything. In that the case of replacing the stock o2 sensor, which o2 bung is the better choice? Does it matter?

How do you LC1 guys route your cable and where are your bungs:gay:

[guessing] Maybe the seconf bung is that way to allow for the driveshaft? [/guessing]

I don't have the BEGI downpipe but when I was getting my downpipe off I took a sharpie and got underneath to see which area had the most room. I decided i wanted my AEM WB to be point almost straight up to keep it from getting moisture damage. I marked where i wanted it with the sharpi and it is about 5 degrees off of being verticle. I put it far enough forward to allow me to route the WB cable down through the shifter hole or something similar still have to figure that out. I'm pretty sure you're right about running the stock O2 sensor in the upper bung and keeping it on the mazda ECU. I'm going to be running both when i get the DP back in the car.

I don't seem to see a cat under your car, Braineak. I don't have one either right now.

I've got somebody working on a "cat replacement" for me to.
But I can visualize where the drive-shaft would be and it wouldn't seem to be in the way if the bung was on the inside. I hope the LC1 comes with a really long cable or I'll be taking my chances with the stock location and the NB output.

I think I'm gonna make an insert for where my cat is and see if it has any effect. From reading, I think it was Corky, who said that the cat was the biggest bottleneck was the cat, even if its high flow like mine (Magnaflow).

I agree Braineack, it's time for a 3-inch exhaust. Corky recently put one on my car and it was good for about 18 rwhp. The car pulls a lot harder now and spools much sooner in the revs. You can see pics of it here...http://www.bellengineering.net/Pages/intheshop.html

I'll eventually build something similar using the driver side exit I cut out with an almost perfectly straight exhaust, and using just a 6" round mangaflow muffler.

I believe you had the stock exhaust before... I wouldn't expect 18 HP going from the 2.25" unless it's already making over 200 RWHP, then yes, a bigger exhaust is going to make a world of difference.

I'm willing to bet that a 2.5" exhaust would have made about the same power on your car Ike... I don't have proof, just my gut feeling... still I would keep the 3" exhaust, as they did an awesome job of it!

I'm planning on a 2.5". If you ever look at my duals you'll see why I want to swap it out. Just so many turns and I'm pretty sure the two tailpipes are 2". I just want something straight and free flowing and goes through only one muffler (you can't even hear my exhaust now). I still make good power with it how it is, but every little bit will help.
