Billet Relief Valve Insert Alpha-Testing

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for an alpha tester for a new billet relief valve insert where a new hardened chromoly relief valve piston sets inside of a hardened chromoly sleeve (instead of a piston sitting along side the soft aluminum that everything seems to dig into and block the piston movement). Outside of more protection against debris, this should normalize the relief valve function by providing more consistent clearances and operating dimensions over the temperature range.

If anyone is interested let me know!

In addition I updated the webpage and put standalone chromoly gears back up for sale for the 91.5-00 pumps. No plans to put the thicker VVT gears back on sale because we don't make them. We now only make our much thicker race gears.

Mazda\Ford\Mercury Oil Pumps

Thanks for the continued support!
Travis

No more oil pumps at all for 01+?

I think you'd use either his 'High Flow' or 'Extreme Flow' pump, which sound like they use even thicker gears than on the VVT motors.

Do the 'high' and 'extreme' pumps use the same gears? The only difference being that the 'extreme' version is ported, polished, and deburred?

Yup that's the idea as far as 01+. We just couldn't justify stocking the skinnier 01-05 gears and the thicker race gears. We start with a 91.5-00 base housing because it uses a better aluminum alloy then the newer housings. So putting the skinnier VVT gears in the housings was costing us the exact same amount as putting in our thickest gear sets. The thickest gears are about the same difference again as there is between the MK1 and the VVT gears. So the flow increase you're seeing there is going to be doubled vs MK1.

As far as preparation there is a lot more manual labor that goes into the extreme pump, and so the cost is a lot higher. There are genuine improvements though. The port is cleaned up a lot, the passages honed, and the race pumps always get the gears that spin and fit the best\tightest. It's kind of like the spec guys who search forever for that stock camshaft that has just a bit more lift. In short though... It's pretty much the best pump that I can possibly make.

Oh I see. Sounds good thanks
