Boost Gauge Repair?
Hi,
Was curious if there was a way to reset the '0' on an HKS boost gauge. I found one at the junkyard I work @ but I accidentally dropped it :crx: and now the needle is stuck @ 7psi. The only screw on the back just loosens up and moves the entire assembly around the casing. Am I screwed or is there some secret trick someone knows of? Thanks in advance. - Dave |
go to the local jeweller or watch repair
dont go at a peak time - and ask but offer to pay for efforts |
Ended up fixing it myself. Removed the face by bending the metal face ring with a small screwdriver. Once the face was off, I just bent the spring back a bit and it works fine now. Hardest part was bending the face ring back on. Wasn't tough, just took a while.
Thanks for the advice anyway. |
the internals aren't knocked up are they?

No, the internals seemed fine. It wasnt a big drop, just enough to make the spring connection bend a bit. So i bent it back. :)

I had to do something similar with my Autometer gauge out of the box. It was optimistic by 2 psi. By gently prying a screwdriver in the back, I got the needle to zero out.
