So working today at the track, one of the guys doing flags with me actually works for BorgWarner. If anyone has any semi technical questions I can see if I can find him tomorrow and get them answered.

Please also ask him if he thinks ball bearing or journal bearing turbos will last longer with an anti lag system or a car with a lot of afterfire.
Please also ask him why they chose a design for the 7670 that requires high boost to stay in the efficiency islands.
Please also ask him why turbo manufacturers keep putting a MAP source on the compressor housing sinxe it doesn't account for pressure drop en route to the intake mani.
Please ask him how the turbine redesign efficiency as well as spool and how the turbine redesign might affect one's AR choice.
Please ask him if any oems are using their efr lineup in some oemed form.
Please ask him if they will release a "budget" efr lineup whihc has the spiffy wheels but no integrated WG or BOV.

It works, it's OEM qualified, and there's nothing at all wrong with it. A better question is-- why do you want something besides the plastic cover?

Ball bearing. Far, far high thrust load capacity.

The comp housing source is ideal for use with an EBC, which you should be using. Using a wg signal source after the IC introduces an unnecessary response lag.

Wha? Match your turbo using the handy new Match-bot. That will tell you exactly how the turbine will respond, within the limitations of the matching process.

Bits and pieces of the new EFR stuff (TiAl wheel, bb) will be used by OEMs in some form in the future. That's why that stuff is in EFR now.
Please ask him if they will release a "budget" efr lineup whihc has the spiffy wheels but no integrated WG or BOV.
No plans to do this.
