Catalytic Converter Length
 

I am going to making my own cat for a 3" system and unfortunately I shipped out my old cat before measuring it. :vash: Can anyone tell me what the length is of a 1.8L NA cat so I can make sure I have enough 3" pipe ordered? Thanks.

How do you make your own cat?

The flanges are angled, but I'd say at the longest it is 17".

Well it is a "cat" because we have visual inspections here (sniffer too, but I know I can pass that part with a little laptop time). Bought an "all-flow" cat from Silicon Intakes but it is only 13" long. I needed to know how much 3" pipe I needed to search for. Plan on modifying the downpipe and exhuast with v-band ends to make things easier down the road.
