Ceramic coating plus paint?

I am having my manifold and turbine housing ceramic coated. Therefore, they will be bright white.

Opinions requested on whether to put high temp paint over the ceramic.

Should I paint?
Why or why not?
Color?

I think the paint would still fail due to the heat, and then you'd have an ugly flaking manifold and turbo.

If you don't like the color, don't get white, or just use the paint that's going to fail in the first place.

The material that my friend uses is pure AlO, which is white, just like Swaintech.

Thanks for your paint answer.

I will LOVE the white.

Just leave it white, it looks sweet. Swain says you can paint over their coating, I would still use a high temp header paint.

Plenty of people paint swaintech coatings.

As others have stated, use a high temp header paint such as the POR-15 stuff (which is very durable), or if you're super baller, have the parts Cerakoted (the gritty nature of the swaintech coating should provide enough stick).

I used the por-15 high temp paint on my turbo cartridge and had good results. I just cut the paint slightly and spayed it with a detail gun. I also know plenty of guys with restored '60's American iron who painted their OEM cast headers years ago and the POR-15 coating still looks great.
