There are some reasons I want to learn to weld... and THAT is one of them.

Harbor Freight baby!

SloS13 08-10-2007 11:44 AM

I've got a fluxcore but i think my brother was given a Snap-On MIG. Gonna try and borrow that on Saturday.

Loki047 08-10-2007 11:45 AM

When I get my garage wired for 240 and need some heavy welding, chicago electric FTW.

PS. Unfortunately some of you new guys dont remember my ghetto manifold. Cost me 16.50 back in the day. But I welded the turbo flange randomly to the runners making a dp impossible

:werd:
somewhere on HMT is a cheaper one made from mild steel square tubing that was free- as in found, cut and welded to a stock mani flange.

Loki047 08-10-2007 11:46 AM

Ughh fuck mig. Stupid cold weld. Just for lazy people who dont want to brush off fluxcore

Looking at the cheap lincoln for $299 at sears today thinking that would be a great little investment.

SloS13 08-10-2007 12:14 PM

I regard my $100 harbor freight flux-core as the best money I've ever spent aside from condoms.

$$$$ go cheaper lincoln are rip offs. HF or clarke (check out the warranty they carry)

The squarefold was made from fence posts, pretty sure someone is still running it. Think it's been on two cars now. It gets traded around to the newbs that want to go turbo.
