Chinacharger oil feed location & restrictor

This is the turbo I'm going to be running. I have no idea if it's BB or JB. How can I tell??
T25 GT25 GT28 GT2871 GT2871R GT2860 sr20 CA18DET Oil Water Cooled Turbo Charger | eBay From this picture, this is how it's mounted to the Flyin' Miata manifold. The hole you see, is that where the oil feed bolt/line goes? Because there is another hole on the right side that looks like it has some type of restrictor in it. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1433957322 Here's the other hole on the side. It's a little smaller. Is that a restrictor in there? Reason I ask is because of the location of these holes. Would I be able to run the oil feed into this hole on the side? Or do I have to clock the compressor wheel to put this hole on the top? Hopefully I'm not sounding ridiculous. Just need some help. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1433957322 |
I ended up clocking the compressor so that hole with the restrictor looking thing is on the top. That has to be the oil feed. But does anybody know whether this is a BB or JB? And going from that, should I need some type of banjo bolt restrictor?
^Anybody?
first shot is water port, second oil feed port.
all turbos need restrictions. that's a journal bearing more likely than not. spin the compressor wheel, if it doesn't feel spin like a skateboard wheel with BBs then's its not BB. |
^Gotta be a journal. But is that a restrictor built into the turbo? Would I still need a restrictor bolt for the feed?
that's not a restrictor.
What is it? And run a restrictor then? Or go without
I went ahead & got myself a restrictor but will run without it at first. If I have any problems with over oiling, I'll throw the restrictor in. I'm running a -3an braided line & then a -10an oil drain line.
