Choosing a turbo
I am currently slowly building a 1.6 and will be looking to add a turbo soon. I am only looking for modest power gains (200hp tops) but will easily give up HP for responsiveness. I have done a little reading on turbo's and AR sizing, was just wondering if someone could help me better understand/wrap my head around it/tell me if I am crazy or missing something.
Desire T3/T4 Turbo (got a good deal on cast manifold, and since I am looking for smaller power numbers, figured t3 vs t25) 'Supercharger Like' performance (Looking for less lag, while willing to give up HP's) Plan on using a smaller intercooler (eBay Special 19.5X6x2.5) No P/S pump, but trying to keep A/C (Thinking 2.5" piping?) Basic Specs of the build so far/parts I already have T3/T4 Cast manifold A/F Gauge MSPNP2 COP Stock Exhaust (To Be replaced) Greddy BOV (Older RS) Stock Injectors (Plan on replacing with 440's unless otherwise suggested) Stock Pump (need replacing?) FM Happy Meal Clutch /w 1.8 lighted flywheel Yonaka Rad |

I got some bad news about what you've chosen to work with and what your goals are

Do tell!
I have looked into this, however the main concern is exhaust. I have seen no reports of anyone using your kit with a lowered driver floor pan, and with all due respect, I don't think its a great deal vs slowly acquiring the parts on my own. I think its a great package deal, but as I already have a T3 Manifold, and will likely need custom exhaust routing I don't believe this is the route for me. I am not sure how you lowered your floor pan, but I can't think of a reason that you could not use my exhaust. |
