Default "Clearancing" for downpipe

Is it possible to bash the rear tray and bulkhead into submission with a suitably blunt instrument to gain downpipe clearance for a high mount turbo? Or is it a cut, plate and weld job?

Have any of you done this - please let me see your results.

Many thanks in advance.

You can bend the lip down with a mallet. Or cut it out with an angle grinder. You should not need to do more then that for most setups on the market.

Thank you, this is a custom install and space is tight like a toight thing. Lip bashing looks to potentially get me c10mm. I'm greedy and want + 20mm at the back if possible.

Looking to see if anyone had gone this far with a suitably weighted blunt instrument. More than likely it will be grinder territory.
