Coolant line(heater hose) question

I believe the red hoses I put X'es on go to the heater core inside the car correct? Well since those hoses are most likely going to burn in hell since they are rubbing against my 3" downpipe.. I'm thinking about just by passing the heater all togeather by cutting the hose on the left thats coming from the back of the engine to the beginning of the right hose where that metal piping is under your turbo manifold. This would get rid of both hoses from behind the downpipe and just give it a cleaner look hidden under the turbo manifold. What you guys think? |
you could just buy a connector and just connect the two together :)? or did oyu say that
basically lol
come guys.. any other inputs before I got and start chopping up the hoses?
Yeah, that'll work, if you don't enjoy heat in the winter. My heater pipes do not rub at all on my BEGI DP. You can make it work, and I would.
I'd keep the heater functional, not just for comfort, but for safety. Running the heater can save your @ss if you catch an overheat in time.
That is the correct way to bypass the heater. DO NOT just block the flow as this is the only way the rear of your engines gets cooled.

what's the 1.25" line you have running above the turbo? looks like you have done the coolant reroute already. if that's the case i assume you tee'd off from the back of the head. if you did then you can just block the heater core hose outlet at the other side of the tee and at the mixing manifold(freeze plug)
