COP question

Alright I know I'm a moron for asking this but I have to.

Why do I see all 8 pins connected in the pic? https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1327066127

Shouldn't it only be 6? (And do I need to do something with the White and red besides just capping the wires?)
