Cutting the sheet metal below the brake master?
Is there any reason I should avoid cutting a section out of the sheet metal under the brake master (where the main ground connects)? I'm just about to construct my downpipe, and it would just be so much nicer to take a notch out of that metal and have a smoother downpipe. It's going to be a divorced gas downpipe, which connects to a 300zx garret t25 turbo, mounted on a hks manifold.
Here's a pic of the current state of affairs. If all goes well, I should be boosted by this weekend. Hopefully my motor won't grenade itself like round 1. http://www.dbmiata.com/miata/SSPX0298.jpg btw, thanks for help. |
People have done it, but weld the seam if you can after trimming it back.

You'll have no problems.
