Data logging with the AEM UEGO

I want to data log with my AEM UEGO, seems easy enough with the serial output. Figured I could find something to run off a Palm like all the DSM guys do, but havent found anything so far.. Has anyone data logged with it? I know it says to test it using HyperTerminal IIRC, to display the voltages, but I would really like to find something to graph it, preferably something I could run off a Palm or make work on Windows Mobile.

Can you datalog vs RPM with the AEM?

I found the datalogging with the LC-1 pretty much useless with out being about to refrence it to RPM.

Sorry, can't be of any help on the software for a handheld. AEM has a forum you might try checking out.

You cannot datalog RPM vs AFR with the AEM, pretty sure just the Zeitronix will allow you to do that besides the Innovate LC-1 with the datalogging box whatchamacallit.

I'm sure if I can find a program to graph voltage inputs, I can add a second input from the RPM signal to display with the voltage from the wideband, and just figure out that X volts = Y rpm, in 100RPM incriments, and have it plot RPM along with A/F on a graph. Seems simple enough, assuming I can find a program that will do this.

*edit* Now that I think about it, if I could find a program to graph voltages, I could maby have a few graphs running simutaniously, say one RPM, one A/F, one TPS, heck even get a map sensor and log boost off it. Kinda the same thing the Ziektronics is doing, just a heck of a lot cheaper, and I could still have my A/F gauge with the digital readout.

Do it man and make sure you let me know cause i just got my car back and running today and need to datalog with my AEM badddddd... Car's been broke down on and off so much i never had a chance to datalog anything.

I'm definately going to try to make this happen. I'm going to ask my dad if he can pass this on to his co-workers at his electrical engineering lab dealy, i'm sure one of them can shoot me in the right direction for a program.

Good luck with that. How do you intend on monitoring the voltages? You'll need some hardware to do that with.

Your easiest solution will be to purchase an SSI-4 ($129). Configure the WB to output analog 0-5V to the SSI-4, then use the other inputs to collect RPM, TPS ... whatever your heart desires.

That interface looks appealing.. I'm toying with LogWorks2 right now to see if this is something I like.

what good is referencing AFR vs RPM without the other axis of the map (either MAP/MAF or TPS)? You could have a very wide range on loads at any given rpm and it seems silly to datalog without load as one of you factors.

jayc72 02-08-2007 12:37 PM

It's better than AFR vs Time.

Read post #4, i'm planning on using TPS and a MAP sensor for load.

I was mainly asking for the LC1 users. I don't believe they have the additional input for that. Or do they?

you can if you buy the SSI-4 or whatever it is.

I've done enough WOT 3rd gear pulls to read the logs perfectly fine based on time.
