Did you consider running your EWG off the dp flange at the internal WG port vs. the #4 runner? Just wonder if there's any disadvantage to doing it that way. I found a lot DSM setups using that port for the EWG.

ok looking at it backwards...i knew you had a 3" exhaust so i was worried about the placement of the o2 bungs. i got it now, looks good.

wait, so run an external gate off the internal gate-hole? wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the external (and higher flowing) gate?
the mani had it on the #4. not first choice but it was what was available at the time. |
I would rather have the external WG on the manifold, but some DSM guys do it the way my car is setup. Who ever did my car this way was an idiot and i'm excited to be able to change it all up with the new mani and downpipe.

The bleed-off must vent from a location where the pulses from all cylinders have been collected. This virtually always means the manifold, close to the turbine mounting flange. Symmetry and easy flow paths are ideals for laying out a wastegate system. It is vital that exhaust gases be given an easy job of changing direction from the route toward the turbine to the bypass through the wastegate. Way back before the demise of IMSA's GTP class, I distinctly remember seeing wastegates right off the turbine, post manifold flange. The DSM guys are overboring the IWG port and getting 40mm wg in there. I figured since it was post collector/merge that it wouldn't be too bad. It's still pre-turbine blade.

I too have seen some IMSA cars with the WG bolted directly to the turbine housing, cool stuff.

www.verociousmotorsports.com is where i got my transition. 2-3" and cut it at 2-1/4" to fit my turbine housing exit

Awesome, thanks. Think i'll get my other tubing and flanges from columbia river and that transition and try to put something together.
Looks like you used a 2" ubend off the turbo to the straight and transition'd into a 3" 90*. You mig welded all of your stainless pipes right? Anything else special I should think of or improve upon while i'm ordering all this? |

yah, migged all my stainless. use V-bands. they are awesome for misalignment or rotation. |
I think I will throw in one vband after the transition, my turbine outlet is right under 2" so i'll use 2" tubing and columbia river doesn't have 2" vbands so i'll have to use a 3" vband after the transition for sure.
Just put the manifold and turbine back on the car with the WG, looks like it will be super easy to put this together with one U and a 90. |
