Losing Turbo Virginity This Summer!
I have a 93' and I'm looking forward to adding a turbo, hopefully this Summer.
Before I mess with anything I'd like to get some opinions on what specific turbos you experts would recommend.
I've been recommended Greddy, HKS, and GT2560R but the people who recommended them have never owned one of these themselves haha so that says it all.
I'd like to get recommendations from people who actually know what they're talking about also let me know around how much I'd be paying to get it tuned.
I'm not looking to buy any really cheap Ebay turbos because I want my moneys worth. My budget is around 2k - 3k and I'm located in California.

What are your power goals?
Are there any tuners in your area?
What platforms do they tune?
What are you planning to run for an ECU?
A $2,000 budget is tight if you're getting the car pro tuned. A pro tune on a full standalone system can run around $1,000.
Do you already have a 1.8 Diff? Your stock diff won't hold up.
There are many questions that need answering before we can answer your original questions.
Are there any tuners in your area?

I'm gonna recommend you don't touch your car until at least September. What's the point of having a convertible if it's gonna be in the garage all summer long? Because you're not going to get it turbo'd for $3k this summer. Read read read, then read some more. You might be able to do $3k if you can weld and tune yourself, if not then you should probably stay NA until you have double that budget.

Thanks man I guess it isn't as simple as just buying a turbo,installing it, and tuning it. What ECU would you recommend? So the 1.8 diff is necessary after all? Can I just swap a used one from a 1.8 Miata because mines a 1.6 or is it best to buy a brand new diff? But thanks man I won't be adding a tubo anytime soon. Some people made it seem like it was possible under a 3k budget but I guess not.
