DIY Custom exhaust silencer/Test Pipe - Thoughts??

So they have this switch on ebay that allows you to use two different exhaust orientations, Either #1) a stock muffler which is the silence option or #2) Straight pipe cutoff
And it let's the driver change between silence mode or straight pipe cutoff with an arms reach from inside the car, while driving.

I wanted to show these two pictures in hopes of gathering some of your guys thoughts on if this would be a good idea or not.

The first photo is the stock miata exhaust diagram:: This is the Stock Exhaust

And now this would be the sample orientation of how I'd like to setup the dual exhaust. Both routes share a high-flow catalytic converter, and increased pipe size.
But the point of the toggle switch will be at the rear end, where you see a racing muffler split off and aimed out the rear, and the silencer option is the stock muffler. Except I would like to try and hide the stock muffler tip so that it doesn't look funny, having two.

That's the example summary of my idea. The logic behind it is that I wouldn't want a 24/7 loud car.
What are your Guys & Girls thoughts?

ps. I am open to some recommendations for exhausts, or other configurations. Ideally I'd love to have something that is relatively quiet and nice sounding until you unload metal to the metal!

Because I am worried that having a high-flow cat all together will actually mess up the purpose of having a turbo. I do want to save up for the turbo as I'm designing the exhaust. That's the vision of labor.

p.s. I apologize if this topic has been covered already, I am new to the forums. And hopefully will become extra familiar with a ton of subjects pretty soon.

First update profile to show location so we have and idea of which planet you are from.

Do not run a cat unless required by where you live. The mystery piece is a resonator to make the exhaust quieter. 2.5" is fine for NA and 3" is the accepted standard for turbo. 12579 Magnaflow is a good muffler ill have to check and see what i have. And if you plan turbo i would build one yourself in a way that is easily modified to work with the downpipe. See my build thread for pictures of mine

Alright, Matrussel122, Thanks!

The problem with having two different exhausts is that you have two different amounts of back pressure the system is dealing with and you will end up having one good fueling and timing map for your car and one bad one. You tune the car for the system you're going to run.

Just get the giant 3 inch Magnaflow that MK Turbo uses and enjoy the deep quiet tone.
