Do I have low or high impedance injectors

Hi all,

I recently bought off e-bay a set of 4 Denso Fuel Injectors. They are marked as being 195500-1370. I have some searchs to try and verify if these are high or low impedance injectors. I have a FM/Link ECU in my 1.6l MX-5 and need high impedance injectors for it.

What my searching has told me is that the 1370 injectors can be high or low, depending on whcih model RX-7 they came from or by other methods such as the type of connector they have and the colour of the connector, as well as checking the impedance using a digital analyser.

Well from what I have read the colour and type of connector that the injectors have would indicate that they are low impedance, but the digital analyser I have shows a reading of 13.2, which would indicate the injectors are high impedance.

Please see photo of one of the injectors and the settings for the digital analyser tool below.

I am hoping that someone might be able to confirm which injectors I have?

TIA

Your images don't work.
If they all measure between 12-16 ohms they're high impedance.

Those are the wrong kind. Those connectors won't fit on the stock Miata injector harness. You'll need to find different connectors and splice them in.

yeah just get the other ends from a harness and splice them bitches
or ghetto rig it, your car, your choice.

High Z.

Hi guys thanks for the quick reponses. Yes, I understand that they are not plug and play. It was difficult (and expensive) to find the correct ones here.

I might be asking a stupid question. What is the diffrence in high impedance and low impedance on the injectors if they are the same cc? Add what reason would you want the high oner or low ones?

Voltage. If they are high impedance there normally pnp and if low impedance you need to use resistors. Or so I think; wait for someone with more knowledge to chime in.

^That is correct... the injector impedence all depends on exactly what voltage your ECU/Coilpack is designed to deliver a signal at.

Your DMM shows high Z

Shit Sam, even I don't believe I was right!:magna:

Yep looks high impedance to me. Rafa you where right while it is possible for us to run on a low z injector it doesn't give the best driveability. But ohwell a month or so of using the wrong injectors was a learning experience to say the least. :magna:

Magna, you telling me you ran around with low impedance injectors for a month?

That's funny!:gay:
