Dual Fuel Feed - an Alternative?
So i read about the dual fuel feed modification that's being done and decided to do it too.
Only thing is i decided I would weld it, for the sake of completeness. Now, for the usual mod, the second feed would be tapped at the END of fuel rail, after cylinder number 4. I sent it to the shop with the above instructions and of course, they decided that they had a better way of doing it. What they've done is tap the second feed between cylinder 3 and 4, just before the return. I'm just wondering, are there any negative implications to this? |
Yes there is that wont work as well. Tell the shop they are idiots and cna DIAF and then take off there bull shit and do it properly. If htey wanted to do shit a better way they would have relocated the return to between 2/3 and put the other feed on the end. what kind of shop are you dealing with that blatently diregards what you tell them to do? I hope you did not pay for that stuff. Grab some JB weld and get that sucker done right but yo might need a new fuel rail by now :(

Put in the correct sized plug (1/8" NPT) and use a good thread sealant. Make sure it doesn't protrude into the rail more than necessary.
Re-drill and tap. Or run it the way it is, as I doubt there will be any really appreciable difference between yours and how others have done it (or a stock rail for that matter). |
the whole point of doing it at the end of the rail is to help ensure #4 gets the same amount of fuel before exiting the FPR....not before it....
|
hmm. ok. So I gather I've just made a useless modification?
Now tapping before the exit means that I'm back to square one? |
Beat them with a stick and make them buy you a new rail and do it correctly.
As stated... entire point is to feed after the FPR so you get consistant fuel pressure across the rail. |
sigh. Ok. So what happens now that it's feeding before the fuel rail? I'm back to square one?
