Engine Assembly and Turbo install

continued from here: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16555
where i had oil drain tapping issues.

I decided to just pull the motor and replace my clutch, oil drain, and motor mounts at the same time. While looking at the motor out of the bay, i decided to refresh my valve cover, some hoses, and a few odds and ends.

Upon taking the engine out I decided i will also do my Transmission, Turret, and Oil change now since everything is easy to reach. My question is this (picture in my photobucket) the fill hole, or the ruin your transmission hole?

Everything has gone smoothly, thanks to all the advice and insight on this site. My setup is SR20DET T25 turbo, HKS Manifold, Custom Downpipe, with MS controlling 305's.
Pictures can be seen here: http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l52/dow-tom/My%20Mx5/

I'll keep it updated, i hope to have the motor in tomorrow and crank er up.
Also, when drilling my oil pan, i believe i hit only the shield, but i dont want to ruin the motor. Can i just remove my injector plug, and my spark plugs and unscrew the oil fitting on my turbo, than crank to make sure it gets oil?

How long has your motor been sitting like that outside without the valvecover on it? Hopefully not longer than you taking that picture, and definately not right now! Thats pretty much the dumbest thing you could do at this stage of what you are doing. Look at all the leaves on the ground and then honestly tell my you don't think there is all sorts of grit and grime in the air settling on your camshafts and falling into your oil......Silicon particles WILL kill a motor.

it was moved back into a garage and replaced once painted.

Just making sure :) For future search reference.

haha nice, yeah i moved it into the garage. I'm just hoping it runs the first time i try to start it. Any way to clean it had something did get in there, just for preventive maintenance? Maybe blow it clean with compressed air? Also to check for oil pressure before the bad happens cause i unhook the oil feed to my turbo and crank it to see if it comes out?

If it wasn't there for long you are fine. I just hate the picture of an open engine with leaves covering the ground.

yeah i moved it into the garage but the cover was left off for a bit, i put it on tonight. i'll blow it out tomorrow to be sure. Also, quick question, can i just un do my fitting and crank the motor to make sure my oil feed is good and the pickup wasnt hurt during the tapping?
