EWG plumbing
 

Just came across this surfing for turbo deals.
I run a flex pipe on the exhaust and was going to stick one in the EWG merge pipe (when that day comes). So why not make most of it flex pipe? It would be friendly to my fragile thin wall ssautochrome manifold I think.

Surely has to be easier to fabricate, and can pick where ever the hell you want it to merge.

I'd like to say I would reserve comment until I saw the inside of it. is it the same construction as a conventional flex pipe? I've allways gone on the premis of keeping the flex joints as short as possible due to their propensity to leak.this one is realy long and would be under a lot of pressure as well as closer to the flame front than a typical flex joint would be. I would have to say that it is destined to fail in short order. unless you drive like a pussy and never get into full boost.

looks cool. Looks convenient, but I think DynoK has a good point..

I would imagine it would fail and need to be replaced at regular intervals. Might not be a problem for you Rob, since you don't really drive that car so much.

My FMIII had a short flex on the EWG merge pipe, right where it merged. Assumably located there to be as far from the turbine as possible.

I hadn't considered that this piece would have a bend in it (inevitably) unlike my exhaust flex which is straight. That's probably creating more stress too. I'm still a believer in the short flex section though, which is what I'll use.

DynoK pretty much hit the nail on the head... Cool idea nonetheless.
