External Wastegate Placement
 

I attached pictures of the wastegate and flanges I have and a paint edited pic of about where I am planning on placing the wastegate and dumping back into the downpipe.
The wastegate mounting flange will be welded on the rear primary, as close to the turbo mounting flange as possible (yellow oval is a representation). A tube will be welded from the downpipe to the other flange that mounts on the wastegate outlet in the approximate area by the green tube on the picture. I want to to try to get the green tube welded to the downpipe as far away from the turbo exhaust outlet as possible, but still keep the attachment point within the engine bay. For simplicity sake I don't want to run the wastegate dump tube 2 feet down the donwpipe and weld it into the downpipe under the car.
If the height of the wastegate can clear the hood and I deal with the turbulence of dumping the wastegate so close to the turbo exhaust outlet while keeping in mind that the total control of my boost spike prone dsm T25 will be a plus, do any of you guys/girls with previous turbo experience see any problem with where I'm planning on putting the wastegate?

P.S. anyone have experience with welding the internal flapper closed after the factory wastegate is removed?

you might wanna try and fit it so its on 2 cylinders.so you can control boost easier.

im thinking the i can get it pretty dang close to where #4 and #3 primary tubes meet at the flange. That was one of my main questions if favoring just one primary tube with the placement of the WG was going to cause any problems.

You want to make sure that the wastegate is not just stuck on one cylinder, and rather be venting the collection of gases instead on one cylinders gas.

Also do not weld the flange directly in manifold. Separate flange and manifold with short pipe. I didn't do that and now I have problem keeping the wastegate bolts tight, presumably from thermal expansion of the flange.
