Default Maybe a stupid Race Gas question.

Hey all- I have assembled all of the parts to start my (2nd) turbo build.

I am fortunate to have 1 VP Racing gas station with pump 93 (big deal out west) and 100 pump gas. I am new to megasquirt, but 100 octane is only useful to allow more timing, right?

The question- I don't mind spending the $$ for 100- but is it easy to load a 91 octane tune if I get stuck outside of home and can't get 100 (or 93 for that matter)?

Your ECU supports switchable maps.

This means you can select between two sets of fuel/timing maps with an external switch - no laptop needed.

Obviosuly, you will need to tune for both 93 and 100.

Very cool! I presume I can use a standard switch? Thanks for building a cool ECU!

Single pole, single throw on/off switch.

yep. map switching is awesome. make 2 tunes and you're set. though they will be very similar, one will just have way more timing and boost

I hate your face. I wish I had 100 octane pump gas.
Thanks to those who voted...

Its popping up more and more here. Now its only 10 miles away. Totally feasible to a racecar or a daily with a E sensor and a real flex fuel tune.
