BOV leaks at idle :-(
I have a TurboXS RFL. At the time I got it new for 50 bucks and was happy. I originally set it up without it being on the engine, just had the engine running and a vac line on it. Added shims until I saw it sealing completely. Took 4 shims to achieve this.
On the first drive I got massive flutter, took one out. Second drive I got flutter but not as much . Took another out. Now I get even less flutter but it leaks at idle, about 1mm left open. This is with two shims.
I dont if I should let it be, or change the whole BOV.
It still flutters with two but only at very low rpms.

You have a MegaSquirt. Who cares if the BOV leaks at idle? Mine (a knockoff Greddy RS) is set similar to yours- loose enough to leaks at idle, seals up on throttle, zero turkey-gobble.

you know, i kind of worried about that myself. But if you put your hand over mine, you cant feel it sucking in or blowing out any air. Its probably pulling in a little. Although, im not sure because the turbo is spinning.

^ My BOV has a horn on it. I once tried to screw it off the housing but couldnt, and im pretty ******* strong. I think I strap wrench might do it but I dont have a adapter to put in place of the horn.
I have a feeling that I may one day just take it off and use something else just with a silicone coupler since it sits on a pipe pretty much.

What port are you using for a vacuum source? If you're using the cruise control nipple or w/e that nipple is for on top of the intake near the TB then it might be causing some of your issues.
Many people have success with this nipple though its really small and restrictive. If you were to use a larger vacuum source and add a ship back to the BOV to keep it from leaking at idle things might just work out that way.

Mine leaks at idle so I recired it lol
As for worrying about something getting sucked into the engine...I run a mesh air filter(bug catcher is about all it does), I wouldnt worry about bov eating anything serious.(Its like having exposed cam gears, OMG what if a rock went in there! lol)

Great minds think alike.
