Fire ring
What's the difference b/t a fire ring and a regular wastegate gasket? Can't find this info.
|
Fire ring on a tial is NOT a gasket. It is inserted btw the ewg and the flange on the dp. It seals against the valve in the ewg. It is much like a valve seat in a cylinder head.

Didn't know that. Thanks.
Does yours look something like this: Attachment 203658 Ebay for $11. Another: Attachment 203659 Ebay 2x for $19 |

This is a fire ring. What you posted is just a gasket. I have no gaskets because I bought the baller 38mm Tial MVS. It's all vband. |
Since I don't have V-bands, mine won't look like yours. So do I still need a fire ring? Or just a gasket?

The fire ring inserts into the bottom. If you don't have it, you NEED it. Look in the bottom, can you see past the valve, into the ewg? Post a pic of the bottom.

Yah, I can't see past the valve. It's sealed.

You completely fail at answering my question and at taking pics of THE BOTTOM.
Alas, if you remove that piece on the bottom you will likely find the fire ring there. |
Nice ninja post, before mine. You likely have the fire ring as I said above.
|
brian, mine has the separate ring in the EXHAUST GAS INLET.
|
Hence why I said the BOttom.
Whats your point... |
