Flange types?
2 Attachment(s)
I've learned alot reading all of the information available here. Now I'm starting my own DIY kit. I plan on initially running at 5-6# on my '93 1.6L and raising the setting after I upgrade the diff. Here are a couple of pics of my newly acquired turbo. Am I correct in saying this is a Volvo T3 inlet? JGS has a Volvo T3 flange available that looks like it will fit. If I get a manifold with a regular T3 flange, will I need to replace it with the JGS flange? Also, I can't seem to find a downpipe flange that will fit the turbo outlet. Is this another piece unique to Volvo or is there another source? Lastly, in the second picture it looks like the fitting on the end of the shaft has a piece broken off it. Is this correct? If so, I guess a new shaft is in order.
I appreciate any help you can provide. |
that piece of the shaft is cut like that when the assembly is balanced, so it's ok like that.

measurements of the flange would probably really help identify it

Volvo T3's for 400 Alex.

Oscar, thanks for the info. At least I don't have to replace the shaft.
18psi, I'll have to get measurements of the inlet tonight when I get home. I don't know what I was thinking, I realized the exhaust outlet is for a flaired downpipe that uses a triangular piece to pull it up tight. JGS has those in stock. Thanks for the help. |
just have both surfaces machined flat.
then you can use normal T3 flanges. |
Thanks Braineack. I'll be sure to have them machined flat before I install them.
Thanks again everyone for the help. |
You can get a volvo t3 flange from JGS
