Flat spot on acceleration

This just started as of recently. When accelerating at the beginning of first or second gear the car starts rolling then it feels like it hits some sort of flat spot...kind of "pauses" then levels out and is fine. It only does it sometimes. I'm almost wondering boost leak, but I can't find anything undone. It feels as if the boost is having to catch up, if that makes sense...For the most part, it's running fine. I'm not exactly boosting just yet. I'm still rolling around under 0 psi since I haven't put in the fmu yet. So as of yet I'm using a tb28, 315cc supra green tops, msd ignition box and an 02 simulator. It never use to do this...she's been sitting for a while so all I can figure is a giant cob web in the turbo or something of that nature:jerkit:

Afr?

Turbo_4 10-15-2009 04:14 PM

no wideband yet

BenR 10-15-2009 04:15 PM

You should probably make that a priority. Sounds like you're going rich.

Or lean....

Turbo_4 10-15-2009 04:25 PM

any ideas possibly from what

Splitime 10-15-2009 04:33 PM

All said above and age of plug wires?

BenR 10-15-2009 04:33 PM

315cc supra green tops maby?

albumleaf 10-15-2009 04:33 PM

retarded bandaids? no O2 clamp?

Turbo_4 10-15-2009 04:55 PM

I'm going to pull the plugs tonight. Wires are from last summer...about 10k ago.

I am still getting some smoking though. I'm really wondering fuel. The car smells like a fucking lawn mower...or tractor.

Yea sounds like there is a bad spot in the Air To Fuel Ratio to me, because i had this happen to me before on my old car and i found a rich spot in the tune so that was a easy fix.

I hate it when automatic transmission fluid rears its ugly head!

should be an easy fix with his bandaids and no wideband...

tuning by huffing gasoline, when your high starts to diminish you know you've gone too far

lol yea having no wideband makes this a lot harder to fix then it should be, and not having the right tools to tune with.

spoolin2bars 10-16-2009 12:41 AM

i wouldn't worry about it till you can actually do something about it. you can't even find out what it is right now. it shouldn't matter either. you have half a turbo kit on and your car runs like shit? no way! can't imagine why that would be.

Turbo_4 10-16-2009 05:13 PM

Well...there's nothing that is "tuning" it at the moment. The msd box only works when I'm actually in boost. I went ahead and ordered a wideband so I can see what's going on with that. This thing has just been a very slow project. I've turbo-ed it for almost 6 months now and haven't gone past 3-4psi:-/.

I pulled the plugs earlier, they look fine. In regard to the smoking...I'm still lost. No oil in the pipes or inlet/outlet of the turbo. I also put in a new pcv valve. FM said that using the protege valve cover will do this...Ideas?

315cc injectors and no management what do you expect?

Savington 10-16-2009 06:59 PM

Take the turbo off your car before you blow something up, please. No e-thug bullshit - you're going to seriously damage your motor if you continue to drive the car in that state. Take the turbo off, take the injectors out, and save up some money for engine management.
