Flexible radiator hoses

Does anyone know of a good product or good way to make custom radiator hoses. I need to do some tricky bends and am not sure what to use. I am thinking of going to the junkyard and just buying a bunch of random ones and piecing it all together with clamps?? Any better ideas?

That's what a few people on the forum use. It works good when you're routing IC piping.

karter74 09-14-2007 04:52 PM

What length are people running on the flex radiator hoses?

I ended up buying some at Kragen's. They have a pretty good selection and were only $9.99 and 16.99.

Those hoses look really nice,I will consider those when the time comes for new hoses.

<$20 at napa, for cheap universal solution.

1 1/4" x 20"

part number is in my "i blew my engine" thread.

Stuff is amazing, you can actually tie it into a knot and it doesn't collapse.

I'm trying to get Pegasus Auto Racing to start carrying it (we are their silicon supplier), in the hopes to increase the size of our production runs so as to bring the production costs down...

Use a hanger, get the shape go to napa or some supplier and find a piece that will work.

Non-silicone (aka black radiator hose with flex) version at pep boys is ~$10 in varying lengths from 11" and up.

It looks like it's really heavy duty stuff.

Do they have a size that will replace the heater hoses?

PAT! 09-17-2007 11:06 AM

We make:
16, 19, 25, 28, 30, 32, 35 and 38mm I.D. only... not sure of the size of the heater hoses.

$11.xx at my local NAPA. Installed mine last weekend when I saw my new -10AN drain line was going to interfere with the OEM lower radiator hose. Fits like it was meant to be. Also allows me more room to get at the charge pipe coupler hose clamps.

Gates Vulco-Flex hose - made in the USA !
Used it for my coolant re-route, works really well.
