OK. So the ideal is connectors up, but that is not possible. See this pic:
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...9db7a686e8.jpg Connector has room to face down, but cannot face up. I did (2) things to help hold them in position. First, I swapped the 2.5mm spacers for 2mm thick oil change crush washers. That tightened things a little bit. Then I tie-wrapped the cabling to roughly make the injectors comfortable in the correct position. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...a9cd367b4c.jpg I had problems with the #2 cylinder injector, so I cut the EV1 connectors from the main harness and the converter harnesses and used them as pigtails. I used the funky shrink and solder things that IIRC Ian pointed us to. I did have some issue with the non-tined wires wetting properly and so had to re-do 3 of the 8 connections. In the end, the injectors passed the MS test sequence and the car started right up. |
Thanks for the info! Can't tell from the pics, what angle were you able to get them to stay at?
You have an NB 1.8 right? |
