How about instead of starting a thread about it, you call FM?

I have an FM boost gauge and it has a light. I don't know it they've had variations of their boost gauges over the years though.

I think the old ones were made by Westac and the current gauges are made by Autometer?

I've heard the newer autometer gauges are made by a somewhat newer company and are decent.

I'll be honest though... my older autometer boost gauges SUCK for accuracy.

The newer/older thing was mentioned to me by someone who works for them.

They may suck compared to a proper industrial-grade gauge, but as far as inexpensive automotive-styles gauges go they're better than a lot of the others.

After having been very unimpressed with VDO in the past I decided on a 30" to 15PSI Borg-Warner mechanical boost gauge when I built by current setup. 'Twas worse than the VDO- the needle exhibited lots of stiction and it never went below about 18" of vacuum even at closed-throttle decel at 4,000 RPM. I replaced it with a 30" to 20PSI Autometer Sport-Comp, and it's *much* better. The needle movement is perfectly smooth, it behaves correctly in high-vacuum situations, and my eyeballs say that it tracks my MAP sensor pretty damn closely along the full range.

Specifically, this is the one I have now: http://egauges.com/vdo_ind.asp?Type=...mp&PN=ATM-3301
Very happy with it.
