FM hotside silicone IC pipe for lowmount EFR setup.
2 Attachment(s)
hey guys, I need to figure out if I can use the FM silicone pipe for this setup as I think it would by far be the neatest way to go.
Can someone please tell me where it sits on the car or show some good photos of position and routing, thanks. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1367568950 Dann |
I don't see how you can if they are designed for your setup. The coldside, sure.

Im happy to modify them.
but I need to know how far out they would be. |
Have you looked at the FM directions? The compressor outlet points down and slightly towards the passenger side. I don't see how it would be a good starting point for your setup, I'd think you would rather DIY the hotside.

The compressor outlet can point wherever i want its an EFR, but what sthe location of the end of the FM pipe, I assume it gets squashed when its fitted and stays squashed, i cannot see how a 2" pipe can fit through past the ac/PS and the rad hoses without being squashed.
Thanks, Dann |
Ok I understand your question now. I'm at work otherwise I'd measure it for you.
If you look at my build thread I have a photo showing how cramped it is with PS/AC. It's not squished but it needs buffered with another piece of hose wrapped around the pipe. It's tight. I have a metal hotside pipe that I didn't end up using but they can be a little smaller diameter which would help with that aspect of it. |
Thankyou.

Thanks, Dann With a/c and p/s it doesn't get squashed, but things are so tight you will probably need to a piece or two of rubber hose to protect the FM hotside piece from abrasion. There is a white (yellowish) plastic bracket against the side of the engine bay that will need trimming. The hotside piece was not as bad as the radiator hose. |
The top of my silicone pipe is about 1.5" lower than the shelf (that I notched to get the compressor housing to fit past it) and for the fore and aft position…it's centered about 2.5" to the rear of the first set of exhaust manifold bolts. not sure if that makes sense to you but finding good reference points was a little tricky.
