FM2 Wastegate Signal Line

I currently have an FM2 kit with stock intercooler piping and am sourcing my waste gate signal line directly from the compressor outlet and this was fine for me for just using waste-gate pressure. However, now that I'm going to start using EBC I want to get my signal post IC. My two ideas were either to drill and tap the previous aluminum silicone pipe connector that is post intercooler for 1/8 npt or to try and find someone that already makes an aluminum silicone hose joiner with a 1/8 npt port. My concerns with drilling and tapping my current port is that the barb sensor would sit too far into the pipe and disrupt the flow. Do you believe this will be a problem? Also, anyone have links to where I could get a silicone piping joiner with a hose barb already welded on or 1/8 npt thread that are farther out so the fitting doesn't disrupt flow?

Pic for fun

There's really no reason to do so with EBC.

With a ball and spring MBC you want to source on the cold side, but closed or even open loop EBC should be able to compensate for any intercooler losses.

You run a map sensor, right?

Yes I am, I guess you're right I can just adjust the duty cycle based off the pressure at the map sensor but I thought just for precision a reading from the cold-side would be more precise and I could also have my waste-gate working optimal for when I wanna run low boost.

I actually have the same question as you with the same kit and want to do it for thr same reason (more accurate and efficient). I was thinking about cutting the iac hose (only on 90-97 FM throttle body hose) and adding a T fitting. My only concern with that is that it would be out of the direct line of flow or messing with the valve? Or is pressure just pressure and that would be a good place to put it? If not i plan on doing something similar to you and just changeing or taping that couppler pipe. Iirc diysiliconeintakes should have the pipe with a fitting we would need. It may be more generic but im sure we could make it work.

I went digging so here it goes:

http://www.siliconeintakes.com/turbo-piping/iat-installation-p-1231.html good but needs 2 plugs and most likely one adapter to fit a vaccume hose line

http://www.siliconeintakes.com/holset-turbocharger/-p-500.html seems like the cleanest option. Only need an adapter fitting to fit vaccumm line

With this all being said I only really looked on their site so this is not to say there are not better or better priced options around!

You have it backwards as I understand it. While on wastegate you want to source post IC. With EBC at the compressor is fine, shorter vacuum lines are preferred.

^ Okay, I was under the understanding that for either form sourcing the lines post IC was ideal or at least wouldn't hurt but I see you have a point, I guess I can just keep them short and run off ebc only and just deal with the boost sag when I switch over to just waste-gate pressure. Thanks for the links Josh I will save those!
