Default FML turbo rebuild gone wrong

I bought this sr20 turbo locally and planning on to rebuild it and use it for my future build. I think I just open a can of sh**. Is this still usable or toss it the trash?

Take some 300 grit sandpaper to it, its probably fine. Make sure to clean the chra well before reassembly

Ouch. That's some nasty pitting, on par with some of the John Deere turbos I worked on a remanufacturing project on. We tumbled and media blasted them and only saw a few % efficiency loss on gas stand. Your efficiency will take a bit worse of a hit, since it wouldn't be as nicely refinished, but I'd at least try to smooth it out a bit.

The outside of the turbo didn't look that bad when I saw it in person. However, when I took it apart for cleaning and I discovered this FUBAR. The pitting is at least .050 deep, can I bead blast the area then try to do some lapping with sandpaper to smooth it out a bit.
