fuel management on a budget?

I am looking into some boost, with reliability and budget being my main concurs. Ok, fine, probably only the budget.

Junk yard turbo, intercooler, probe or rx7 injectors - this all seems quite straightforward. I have a steel header and a welder - so this part is also covered.

But what are my fuel management options? ECUs seem to be out of my budget but so are fancy FMU like BEGi or Vortech. So, what are my ebay FMU options in the spirit of lemons? Does anything from eBay work? is there a "trustworthy" "brand" in the under $50 category? under $100?

Is it Eyesore Racing that is running a turbo'd NA? Its the one with the turbo sticking out of the hood, they should be pretty easy to find... What are they using for management?

Thanks for the great link! Here is what they use for management:

"Putting out the call on Miataturbo.net, we had a used FMU in our hands in less than a week for $20 in shipping."

:) I guess that's an option.

MS1 with 2.2 pcb brand new for $157 so perhaps a 2nd hand unit should be $50 I'd say

by the way, how does it work with people running "large" injectors and NO fuel management?

Depends on what you mean by "large"
The factory Mazda Miata ECU has some fudge factor built in for injector tolerances, I've read that it can hang with up to about 305cc as with the Supra units. But this is a "your mileage may vary" thing. Some people claim to have had great success, others can't get 305s to work at all. You just have to try it and see.
